Get to Know Me
I’ve walked many paths.
Life and Leadership Coach, Mentor, Teacher, Men’s Work Facilitator, Strength and Conditioning Coach, Guide, some might even consider me their Therapist (which I explicitly will tell you I’m not - at least in the traditional sense). In all honesty, I’ve found it hard to simplify the work I do, in the way I do it. Supporting people to immeasurably change their lives is not something I’ve found to fit into a simplified description and title.
The rebel in me also has no interest in being confined to a box. I’d rather be known for the change I help people create than the label or title you have for me. At its core, I help guide my clients from where they are to where they want to go.
As far as a technical background, I’m classically trained as a College Strength & Conditioning Coach. I’ve worked at big-time schools, like Clemson and Colorado State University, and coached CrossFit Games athletes, professional hockey players, mothers, fathers, and weekend warriors. The path to personal growth coaching was a clear next step for me as every avenue led me to coaching the person, not the exercise or skill.
I am the steward of my client’s dreams.
We get to the root cause rather than getting lost in the symptoms. I help people come back to wholeness, step into their purpose, and shift their identity into a more authentic version of themselves.
Before throwing you an extensive list of practices “proven” to get results, we approach your life together by looking inward first. Whether you’re navigating heartbreak, a change in career, finding your purpose, or stepping into powerful leadership, it all starts by knowing yourself. This is what I call looking at the context instead of the content.
You may have an idea of what you need to do in order to get closer to your goals. In fitness, this looks like eating better and working out more, yet so many people struggle to be consistent. This is where I begin to bridge the gap - helping my clients get clear on what they want, and why they want it and giving them the tools to be successful. Early on I was blown away when their results became 10x through this process. The natural progression was to help people in relationships, business, leadership, and inner work.
I meet you where you’re at.
My unique coaching style and background are supportive for a range of personal, professional, and relational goals. This is why the majority of my work is individualized coaching. I meet you where you are to provide the support, coaching, and guidance you need. Not some cookie-cutter framework meant for the masses because there has never been nor ever will be someone like you again!
You might be able to tell how obsessed I am with your success. I continue to hone my approach to coaching by helping people get clear on their purpose, helping them show up more authentically, and unlearning the belief systems that don’t serve them.
When I’m not coaching and guiding others, you can find me immersed in anything where fitness, adventure, and sunshine combine. Bonus points if water is included. If I can get sun on my skin while working out in nature then I am a happy camper.
In large part, this is why I ended up in Colorado. Snowboarding, mountain biking, and trail running are some of my current favorites. At my roots, there’s nothing like throwing around a barbell with the guys. Training is non-negotiable for me, just like eating and sleeping.
My biggest passion lies in surfing, albeit I feel like a novice most days. There’s something magical about the ocean. It’s both powerful and calming. You can surf for a lifetime and you’ll never catch the same wave. Now that I’ve discovered river surfing in Colorado I may never have to leave!
I have an all-in mentality for life versus standing on the sidelines. I am a curious, life-long learner who LOVES to go deep. The edges of my personal and professional life blur together on a day-to-day basis, and I believe that life is only enhanced through depth, meaning, novelty, connection, and adventure. Life and personal growth get to be fun, and when combined, create a life well lived.
How I Start the Day
This ritual has become a staple in my life. Regardless of the day’s events, I’m up a couple of hours early to meet myself before I meet the rest of the world…even if that means getting up at 4 or 5am!
It creates positive momentum in my day, and helps me stay more grounded and present in life, which nourishes my soul. When it’s good, and it’s usually good, the whole things takes about an hour. It’s not necessary to spend this much time, I just personally enjoy it that much. The investment I make each morning is what helps me integrate all the things I’m learning so I can continually embody the man I am and desire to be.
Pull a shot of espresso (my go-to). Something to sip on mindfully while I move through my practices.
Journal. Full brain dump of everything on my mind. I write until there’s nothing left to write.
Read. I’m that guy who has a cart full of books, infinitely interested in learning and invested in personal growth.
Meditate and/or breathwork. It’s not about how long I do it, it’s that I do it.
