Awareness - Day 19
What get’s measured, gets managed.
Without checking in you don’t know if what you are doing is working. Seems simple, right? But what about checking in on yourself.
What makes you happy?
Are you making decisions out of fear or love?
What excites you?
Why do you react the way that you do?
If you can’t answer these questions then you likely aren’t spending enough time reflecting.
Viktor Frankl so famously said: “Between stimulus and response there is space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and freedom.”
I was recently talking to some friends about growth, identity and feeling purpose. And it all came down to one thing: awareness.
Creating awareness is the first and most important step. And in order to create awareness around the good and bad you need to create space.
If I were to write a formula for living optimally it would look something like this:
Creating Space —> Awareness —> Reflection —> Decision —> Growth
So make sure you are making time and space to think about the important stuff.
Then ask yourself the hard questions, mostly around “why”.
Consider what the possible outcomes could ensue.
Go with your gut.
Never look back.
