Give Less F**** - Day 20

If I could give my younger self one piece of advice it would be to give less fucks.

Easier said than done for sure, but I spent so much of my adolescence and early twenties trying to fit in.

Most decisions were out of fear.

Will I fit in with this outfit?
What do I say to impress the girl?
How do I act at this party?
What kind of career is respectable?
Where do I live?

You get the picture. I lived like this for years and ended up sad, lonely, broke and unfulfilled. Mostly because I never stopped to ask myself what’s I wanted. I didn’t really know what I was passionate about or what made me happy.

Because that voice would creep in my head : “what will others think.”

What’s funny is now that I’m 30 I’ve realized confidence is the most attractive thing about someone. When you show up fully yourself unashamed of what you think and how you act it’s polarizing to people in business, relationships and every aspect of life.

I’m probably more ‘weird’ these days and I’ve got more friends and respect from my peers.

All because I stopped making decisions out of fear and instead made them out of love.

So ask yourself how is fear holding you back?

Because if your response to anything is not a “fuck yes”, then I needs to be a “fuck no.”
